Gabriel Allende
Gabriel Allende is the founder and director of allende arquitectos since 1982. He obtained his degree in architecture from the ETSAM in Madrid in 1976 followed by a Masters in Architecture from the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) in 1979. Since 1989 he has been an Associate Professor at Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid), contributing to the Department of Architectural Design. He has also taught at the Universidad de Anahuac (México DF), in the Department of Fine Arts at the Universidad de Salamanca, the Universidad de Las Américas (Puebla, Mexico) and the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.
He was Director of Exhibitions and Publications at the MOPU Exhibition Hall (Madrid) between 1983 and 1985, and has participated as editor or writer for industry journals such as Arquitectura, El Croquis, Skyline or El Paseante. He has been a juror and curator in various national and international activities and events
Gabriel Allende is a member of AEPD Asociación Española de Profesionales del Diseño (Spanish Association of Design Professionals) and a founding member of DIMAD Asociación de Diseñadores de Madrid (Madrid Designers Association) since 2005. Also, in 2005 he joined the IED European Institute of Design as a member of the scientific committee.
